I read an article about cloud computing which postules that cloud computing is much more than cheap computing.
Reasons are:
1. Is more efficient: Organizations have not to pay for operating the system
2. Is more agile: Maximizes ROI through rapid time to market a.o.
Anyway they were not mencioning the cons of "cloud computing":
1. You depend of
1.1. The company providing the system (software++) you use
1.2. A working internet
2. You do not own the software you need to drive your business.
3. Your data is going out of your business into the internet losing security and privacy. ALL going through cables out of the walls of your company is able to be hijacked.
4. With all data traveling through the cable the work takes more time, not much more but all the time.
As I try to show with Tsubame Software Tools they are some "cons" you not need to have. With Tsubame you have the same "pros" as with "cloud computing" but only 1/2 of the "cons".

Planning for Quality
Here a little more from Joseph M. Juran about Quality -> CRM
---
In broad terms, quality planning consists of developing the products and processes required to meet the customers' needs. More specifically, quality planing comprises the following basics activities:
- identify the customers and their needs
- develop a product that responds to those needs
- develop a process able to produce that product.
Invariable sequence of steps for quality planning:
- identify who are the customers
- determine the needs of those customers
- ranslate those needs into our language
- develop a product that respond to those needs
- optimize the product features so as to meet our needs as well as customers' needs
- develop a process which is able to produce the product
- optimize the process
- prove that the process can produce the product under operating conditions
- transfer the process to the operating forces.

Research about SW for SMB
Here the conclusion of the study:
In the SMB market, risk becomes a critical factor in the IT decision making process, because SMBs have less access to capital and rely on speed and agility to differentiate themselves. Both Oracle and SAP have focused on the SMB market; today the results that their customers have achieved with their products differ.
This is clearly the first round of the SMB battle, as Oracle continues to announce products and partner initiatives to deliver more repeatable predictable success to SMBs and SAP continues work on its new product line specifically designed for the SMB market. The ultimate winner will be the vendor that can deliver the greatest value with the lowest risk to deployment and adoption. However, the data today shows Oracle has a clear lead over SAP in the SMB marketplace.

About japanese CRM, Quality and, last but not least, philosophy...
A senior executive at an American car company once told me that the company had just finished its twentieth annual study of Toyota. After 20 years, was the company still learning something new about its adversary, I asked. he abswer was illuminating. "For the first five years," the American manager replied, "we thought we had a data problem. No one's quality could be that good. For the next five years, we thought it must have something to do with being Japanese -docile workers, group-ism and so on. For the next five years we thoughtit must be their technology -robots, supply systems, etc. Only in the last five years have we come to realize that they have a fundamentally different philosophy about customers and workers."

SaaS or Web Software for Enterprises
Hi !
I was looking on some web based business sites
(Software as a Service)
where you pay only for the use of the software and you have no work with the HW and SW itself.
May be from the TCO side, for costs and ROI, is that a good idea,
but,
I testing such applications, as user, I repeat: as user
and got the impression that I have to wait may be a little bit to long each time I get a new site (and that happens often!). In my eyes this is an invitation to muda, what is japanese and means wasteful.

Yeah, that is nothing for me!
I am convinced that my programming way is the best one :-) !!
CU soon!

Over 15 years writting programs
I remember my first job as programmer, that was in the year 1993 for the Germanischer Lloyd. The program calculates short circuit currents for ships according to DIN Norms.
That was a very interesting job and then I discovered also my... yes, passion for programming!

Less is more
Software development has always a kind of inflation:
I think that is not in all cases the right principle.
I am rather convinced that the right principle of development is to do as much as possible automatic and all the user have to do must be intuitive.
- More functions
- More posibilities
- More colors
- More memory
I think that is not in all cases the right principle.

Good Software
Shall a god software be defined over
- have to..
or
- have not to... ?
I can imagine docens of "have not to..." but only fews "have to.." over what that is supposed to do, of course.
I recommend to read "Getting real". I enjoyed this book a lot :-)
